Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Richarlison would miss many weeks owing to a knee injury.
The Spurs boss says Richarlison will be sidelined for three to four weeks, and he admits his player is “disappointed” with the new setback.
Richarlison has been in excellent form for Tottenham since recovering from surgery to repair a long-standing groyne problem.
The Brazil international has 10 goals in 22 Premier League appearances, nine of which have come in his previous ten games.
However, Richarlison sustained an injury in Tottenham‘s recent 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Tottenham star Richarlison set for ‘three to four’ weeks on the sidelines.
Speaking to BBC Sport on Friday ahead of Spurs‘ match against Crystal Palace, Postecoglou stated that his player will not be returning just yet.
The Tottenham manager also issued an update on other Spurs players ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game at N17.
“Richarlison is out three to four weeks. He had a knee injury last game, and Sess is out, so he’s still down a couple of numbers.
“Richy is disappointed since he has been an important contributor, but that is how our season has gone.
“With Sess, it’s a tough one. He worked hard to get back, and it’s always more difficult when it happens in a series of events.”
It’s unfortunate that Richarlison will be out for an extended period of time, especially given his recent form.
Tottenham have three games before the international break, so let’s hope the £50 million signing is totally fit by the time Spurs visit Luton Town on March 30.
