Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is still interested in Borussia Monchengladbach defender Ko Itakura, who has a release clause set for next summer.
Postecoglou has already added one centre-back to Tottenham’s ranks this month, signing Radu Dragusin from Genoa.
He is anticipated to continue his rebuilding in the summer, possibly heading to Germany for another recruit.
According to Sky Deutschland, Postecoglou has high regard for Gladbach’s Japanese defender Itakura.
Itakura will have a €10 million to €15 million release clause this summer.
Tottenham could see this as an opportunity to acquire a great defender at a reasonable price.
Gladbach, for their part, want Itakura to stay and sign a new deal at Borussia-Park.
Gladbach values the defender, who has 23 international caps for Japan, and does not want to lose him.
