Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou was reportedly unhappy at Dejan Kulusevski shortly before halftime in last night’s game against Fulham.
Spurs defeated Marco Silva‘s team by a score of 2-0. Postceoglou is pleased with the outcome, but there was more than one item he wasn’t pleased with yesterday. One of them was Kulusevski’s decision not to shoot.
Ange Postecoglou was enraged at Tottenham midfielder Dejan Kulusevski.
Last night, Tottenham dominated Fulham in the first half.
The Spurs got out to a fast start and were on the offensive. They moved the ball smoothly and all of their players prepared for the task.
After Son Heung-min put them up, it seemed just a matter of time before a second one went in before the break.
Dejan Kulusevski had the huge chance, finding himself on the end of a wonderful pass inside the box, but his selflessness cost Tottenham a second goal before halftime.
Andy Townsend was on Premier League Productions’ commentary last night when he noticed Ange Postcoglou furious after Kulusevski failed to convert his chance.
“He’s got to shoot there,” he stated live on TV right before the break. Martin (Tyler) has to put the finishing touches on Kulusevski there. It’s another beautiful ball from Romero. That’s a crucial point in the game because it should go in the back of the net.
“I just saw Ange Postecoglou’s face there, and he was furious that they didn’t make more of that.”
Kulusevski’s numbers for Tottenham aren’t particularly impressive.
Dejan Kulusevski is without a doubt one of Tottenham’s most skilled players.
Last night, the 23-year-old played an unusual game. He shown bursts of amazing brilliance, but he also had some extremely bad moments.
Overall, despite being a fantastic player, Kulusevski has to enhance his productivity. He has only scored nine goals in 67 appearances for Tottenham. It simply does not represent how good a player he is.
It will be intriguing to see how Postecoglou uses Kulusevski to score additional goals in the coming weeks and months.
