According to John Wenham, Tottenham should aim to trade Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this month because he “is obviously not in the plans” of Ange Postecoglou.
Hojbjerg has only started five Premier League games since the Australian took over at the start of the season.
He has been linked with a move elsewhere, with Sky Sports News stating online in their live Transfer Centre (16 January, 5:48 pm) that Spurs are in “no rush” to decide on the future of the Denmark international midfielder, which is “set to go down to the final days of the transfer window.”
The North London club will consider moving Hojbjerg on and bringing in a replacement at the end of the window, but they will not accept any “cut-price deals” for the 28-year-old, who has attracted interest from Juventus, Napoli, and other Premier League clubs.
With this in mind, Wenham feels the club should attempt to move the player on so that they may continue to improve in the squad.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “A lot of work still needs to be done in central midfield, and I think that Tottenham should look to try and move Hojberg, who only has 18 months left on his contract in North London.
