Another brilliant Liverpool transfer move by Julian Ward is evidenced by an international call.

The fact that Julian Ward’s most recent loan deal has received recognition on a global scale suggests that Liverpool may have made another market-savvy decision

Especially in the last several years, the route from Liverpool’s academy to Blackburn Rovers is increasingly well-traveled.

Lewis Travis, the club captain for Blackburn, is evidence of that. The midfielder moved from Kirkby to Ewood Park in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since, making over 150 appearances for the Lancashire club to date.

It was Harvey Elliott who temporarily moved to Blackburn a few seasons ago. Leighton Clarkson also spent a few months on loan with Rovers during the previous campaign.
The transfer to the Championship team this time around was made by Tyler Morton, and Julian Ward obviously hopes that a season in England’s second tier will have the same type of effect on Morton as it did on Harvey Elliott’s career.

The sporting director of Liverpool has nothing to complain about thus far

Morton has adapted well to life at Blackburn, and he even played center defense in the League Cup. Overall, he has made nine appearances for the team and has logged 548 Championship minutes.

Morton has distinguished himself for his defensive skills, but more so for his distribution. He has primarily been employed as a holding midfielder in a double pivot, although he has also occasionally played as a box-to-box midfielder.

According to Wyscout, Morton is among the top five U21 midfielders in the league for critical passes (0.49 per 90), through passes (1.81 per 90), and passes to the penalty area (2.96 per 90). Additionally, with 47.96 passes per 90, he has the second-highest pass average among U21 midfielders.

These are incredibly amazing figures, and Morton is swiftly becoming into the kind of all-around midfielder Liverpool lack in their current lineup. He wins 56.41 percent of the 6.41 defensive duels he engages in per 90 minutes at the moment.

We will have to wait and see if Jürgen Klopp will give him significant consideration as a long-term option. But the Liverpool manager made it clear that he admired Morton throughout the preseason, and given that Morton put up a strong performance in the San Siro in the Champions League last year, he would undoubtedly be ready to take another step in his career.

His first call-up to the England U21 squad serves as further evidence of his great potential and a confirmation that he is moving in the right path. He has now been acknowledged on a global scale.

Morton, who is still only 19 years old, will be hoping that the upcoming season will be his chance to shine in pre-season and demonstrate that he is ready for first-team play following what looks to be a strong campaign in the Championship.
