Andrew Robertson, a defender for Liverpool, is not expected to play against Rangers in the Champions League
The Scotland captain initially developed an issue earlier this month, and Kostas Tsimikas took his place in yesterday’s match against Brighton and Hove Albion.
A lot of people have been urging Tsimikas, sometimes known as the “Greek Scouser” by his colleagues and on social media, to start ahead of Robertson this season because he hasn’t looked like himself.
He had already been chosen for Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Everton in the Merseyside Derby.
Robertson, who was a lifelong Celtic supporter before being let go at the age of 15, will undoubtedly be quite disappointed to miss the Rangers game.
The “Old Firm” was named the finest football rivalry in 2020, beating out matches between Boca Juniors and River Plate, El Clasico, Der Revierderby, and the North London derby, among others. Celtic and Rangers are reputed to have one of the sport’s greatest rivalries.
Robertson has never played against Rangers in his career to date since Dundee United, where he first gained notoriety, was relegated to the lower divisions of Scottish football at the time.
He relocated to Hull in 2014, then to Liverpool three years later. He is now regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world.
Even more recently, he expressed his devotion to the Bhoys, stating that if he doesn’t conclude his playing days with Liverpool, he would love to don the green and white.
