‘Anything is possible’ with Tottenham player – club makes a ‘formal request’ to sign him

Giovani Lo Celso has rejoined Tottenham Hotspur after impressing on loan at Villarreal last season.

According to La Vanguardia, Barcelona has identified the midfielder as a possible signing. Later that day, Estadio Deportivo claimed that Real Betis had contacted Spurs and would make a loan bid in the coming weeks to sign him.

According to Sport, Manuel Pellegrini’s team has submitted a ‘formal request’ to Tottenham to buy the 27-year-old during the summer transfer window.

Even if Xavi Hernández admires the Argentine, Barcelona has yet to take any action. According to the report, he is one of the midfield candidates.

Lo Celso is well-versed in the Spanish league, and bringing him on loan would “fit Barca like a glove.” As of yet, no decision has been taken on his future.

Ange Postecoglou, the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, is yet to see the player. It’s been reported that he’ll spend pre-season with Spurs because the Australian, like other players who were out on loan last season, wants to have a better look at him.

Sport has stated that ‘anything may happen’ and that ‘everything is open’ regarding the South American’s future. For the time being, the case is ‘paralyzed at the expense’ of what Tottenham and Lo Celso decide, as well as the offers he receives in this window.
