Archie Gray Tottenham’s struggles reach a new low following the Leeds United deal with a devastating defeat.

Archie Gray, a former Leeds United player, has been handed further disappointment as Tottenham lose to struggling Leicester City.

The Foxes broke a nine-game winless streak under Ruud van Nistelrooy by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Gray played right-back and has proven his value to Ange Postecoglou, who is under increasing pressure after playing heavily amid an injury crisis in North London.

Gray progressed through the Leeds academy before becoming a first-team regular under Daniel Farke and establishing himself as a fan favourite, but his departure in the summer disappointed fans.

Jamie Vardy cancelled off Richarlison‘s opening, ghosting between Ben Davies and Gray to score. The strugglers completed the reversal minutes later, as Bobby Reid teed up Bilal El Khannous.

Spurs continue to struggle despite the 18-year-old’s flexibility and dependability, as they suffered their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat on Sunday.

After a rough start to his career with Postecoglou’s team, there was talk of a possible comeback. However, the Leeds manager shut down the mumurs.

“I don’t speak about other players who are under contract at other clubs,” Farke said reporters. “I’m hesitant to remark on someone who is no longer under contract.

“Our fingers are crossed for Archie and his entire career. If you want a referral, he already has my phone number, but I keep what I propose fairly quiet.”

Postecoglou, the Spurs manager, still believes in his players and has commended them for their dedication despite a terrible run of losses. “Yes, it hurts,” he said. “It really aches. The players gave it all again.

“We are going to look at a lot of things, but in terms of effort I can’t ask anymore of this group, things just didn’t go our way today.”We produced several nice opportunities, but things didn’t fall our way because the players weren’t trying, which is the most important thing.

“The guys are doing everything they can. That is all we can ask for as a football team and myself as manager. They are doing their best, and that is all anyone can ask for.

“You can analyze the goals; they were frustrating for us to surrender, but I thought we had enough chances to win the game.
