As a result of the Patrick Bamford and Asmir Begovic incident, the FA intervenes to ensure that QPR receive justice following Leeds United’s blunder.

Following Leeds United’s gaffe with Patrick Bamford and Asmir Begovic, the FA steps in to guarantee that QPR receives justice.

The Whites are gearing up for another home clash this week after seeing off QPR on Wednesday where Crysencio Summerville’s early strike settled the match at 1-0.

Leeds wasn’t at their best but didn’t really need to be in order to come out of a meeting with Gareth Ainsworth’s men on the victorious side.

Patrick Bamford, Asmir Begovic controversy

With the game heading towards a routine win for Leeds, Pascal Struijk found the run of Patrick Bamford in stoppage time with a searching long ball, as the striker knocked it past an approaching Asmir Begovic, who lunged in with his studs high in the air.

Begovic’s challenge saw Bamford go to ground, but there was no contact from the R’s stopper, as Bamford quickly got up and immediately gestured to Begovic as if he knew there wasn’t anything in the tackle.

As he made his way to the tunnel, attacker Lyndon Dykes was forced to wear the custodian gloves for the rest of the game.

Has justice been served?
Now, the FA has stated that the R’s wrongful dismissal appeal has been upheld, which means that Begovic will not serve a ban and will be ready for today’s game against Blackburn Rovers:

Revocation of the red card

Asmir is available for Saturday after our wrongful dismissal appeal was upheld.
