This is the kind of green they write about in the Bible, so to speak, with Leeds United allegedly seeking to add another attacker to their Championship-leading team.
Daniel Farke‘s team has more points than any other team. No team has more goals either; the only other team to score more than 40 goals this season is Middlesbrough.
Leeds United can frequently afford to start Joel Piroe, Brenden Aaronson, Manor Solomon, Dan James, and Patrick Bamford in place of Wilfried Gnonto, Largie Ramazani, and Mateo Joseph because Farke has so much depth at his disposal.
Leeds, however, seems intent on adding even more weapons to an arsenal that is better equipped than David Bradley’s in Hot Fuzz.
Alvyn Sanches, the mastermind behind Lausanne Sport’s unexpected title quest in Switzerland, is still being linked to Leeds. It has been said that Farke is eager to save Mike Tresor from Burnley, who are vying for promotion.
Leeds has also kept a close eye on Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Dor Turgeman, another talented forward.
Dor Turgeman, a target for Leeds United, is prepared to turn down an American move.
The Yorkshire giants are not the only team vying for Turgeman, who was Solomon’s teammate on the Israel national squad.
There are many fans of the 21-year-old left-winger on the other side of the Atlantic. Even though the Portland Timbers are the team that has been brought up the most in America, this is just a small portion of the significant MLS interest.
Regarding Leeds United, the Israeli newspaper One now has conflicting information.
Positively, the £4 million-rated Turgeman “does not intend” to move to Major League Soccer. The bad news is that he has no immediate plans to move.
Zarko Lazetic, the manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv, is frantically trying to hold onto Turgeman until at least the summer, and it looks like he might be in luck. Leeds should have little trouble in that area of the field in the second half of the season, at least, since Solomon, Gnonto, and Ramazani can all succeed in the left-wing position Turgeman has established in Tel Aviv.
Turgeman supported despite Israel’s scoring slump
With nine goals and four assists this season, Turgeman has earned seven caps for Israel. As long as his performances stay at a comparatively good level, Lazetic is not worried about his current five-match league drought.
“I really don’t care about the numbers,” Lazetic tells Sports. “All I want is for [my players] to play well.” Goal scoring is easier at times and more difficult at others. Like all the other players, I firmly believe in Dor.
Turgeman was once called a “beast” on the football field by Lazetic. The Maccabi Tel Aviv number nine has the work ethic and pressing abilities that Farke seeks in his forwards, in addition to his strength in the last third.
