Aston Villa have had a busy summer.
The Villans have already made some big acquisitions, but there have also been some high-profile exits, including Moussa Diaby, who appears to be leaving Villa Park soon.
Villa may have signed a handful of players this summer, but there are still a few targets they have missed out on.
Ben Jacobs spoke on Forest Fan TV about Callum Hudson-Odoi’s future. It was reported earlier this summer that Hudson-Odoi was the subject of many inquiries, and according to Jacobs, Villa was one of the clubs interested in the £30 million-rated winger.
Aston Villa inquired about Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Jacobs revealed what he knew about the winger.
“We know from Forest there were three inquiries this summer, and some of those clubs were Premier League clubs,” he added. “There was a point in time where one of those clubs was Villa to my knowledge, but they didn’t progress anything, but I don’t know the other specific clubs, only that Forest registered three formal inquiries to understand the price and the terms.”
Hudson-Odoi might excel under Unai Emery.
Villa did not pursue their interest in Hudson-Odoi, but the Forest star may have been ideal for Unai Emery. Indeed, the England international possesses all of the raw talent required to be a superstar, and with the proper manager and the right level of opportunity, he may become a world-class player.
Hudson-Odoi has made significant progress at Nottingham Forest, but he could advance even more if he joined Villa and worked with Emery.
Perhaps this is one to keep an eye on in the upcoming transfer window.
