Leeds United set to re-sign midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City?

Leeds United are reportedly keen on resigning Kalvin Phillips  from Manchester City in the next summer window, if they win promotion back to the Premier League. It is known that if Leeds are promoted, they would make major investments in the summer transfer window, with the purchase of a reliable midfield anchor being one of their top goals. The 28-year-old England international left Leeds for Manchester City during the summer transfer window in 2022. The Premier League champions paid roughly £42 million for the central midfielder, who is expected to  compete with Rodri in City’s engine room. However, after recovering from a protracted injury, Phillips struggled to establish himself in Pep Guardiola’s  squad and was loaned out to West Ham United for six months during the January transfer window. According to Football Insider, Leeds expect Phillips to return to the Etihad Stadium at the end of this season and then be sold on a permanent basis. According to the source, the 28-year old midfielder is still highly valued by the Yorkshire club, and they will work  on  a contract to bring him back to his boyhood club if they return to the top flight. Archie Gray’s second-half attempt against Leicester City was  reclassified as an own goal, but it was never going to detract from  Leeds United’s biggest win of the season thus far. The Whites battled back from a goal down at Elland Road to beat Leicester 3-1 on Friday night, bringing them  within six points of the league leaders with only 12 Championship games remaining. It’s a result that sends a strong message to their opponents in the fight for Premier League promotion, but it also keeps Leeds’ championship chances alive. The youngster’s strike deflected off Faes on its way to goal, beating Mads Hermansen, but it was later ruled an own goal. Gray’s search for his first senior football goal will continue, but the outcome is all that matters. “I got a little lucky with the strike, but luck is necessary in sport. At halftime, we knew we’d have chances to score; we just needed to be patient. “Great win,” he told Sky Sports before receiving the dreadful news. “I’m not bothered, hopefully I’ve got loads of chances to score goals for this amazing club.” When asked about the chances of catching the Foxes, who have dominated the Championship for much of the season, Gray replied, “We’re just focused on the next game. Leicester City succumbed to the Elland Road atmosphere in their defeat to Leeds United, but Enzo Maresca is pleased with his team’s performance. City lost the top-of-the-table encounter after surrendering three goals in the final ten minutes, denting their  promotion hopes. They had been the better team up to that point and had wasted several excellent opportunities to put the game away, with Maresca blaming poor finishing for the second game in a row after missing chances against Middlesbrough the previous weekend. However, after Connor Roberts equalised for Leeds, the Elland Road supporters rallied behind their team, and  Maresca confessed the hosts were “mentally better” than his side. Leeds applied the pressure and earned three points thanks to Archie Gray’s deflected attempt and a Dan James free  kick “Until the goal we conceded, for 80 minutes we were in control of the game,” “We dominated the game.”We created numerous opportunities.Football is about taking chances. We missed.“In the final 10 minutes, in this type of stadium, when you surrender a goal, you sink a little bit, or they are mentally stronger than us.After we conceded the goal, they had a better mentality than we had. “It is apparent that for 80 minutes, we dominated the game, controlled it, and generated numerous opportunities. This type of game is difficult. It is difficult to say exactly what transpired on Friday night. For the most part of 80 minutes, Leeds appeared to be heading for a humiliating defeat that would have ended any remaining hopes of a title push. But Connor Roberts’ goal with 10 minutes of normal time left appeared to change everything. Leeds’ performance  improved significantly after Daniel Farke brought on Roberts, Patrick Bamford, and Daniel James slightly sooner. Patrick Bamford says he spoke with Georginio Rutter at half-time during Leeds’ triumph. It also seemed to bring the best out of Georginio Rutter. The 21-year-old had a very awful first half.   Leicester appeared to have found a technique to keep the ball from sticking to his feet. And nothing seemed to be  working for Georginio. However, he was named player of the match after contributing significantly to all three Leeds goals. And, speaking to Sky Sports (broadcast on 23/2; 22:23), Patrick Bamford revealed that he spoke with the boy during the break to attempt to give him a lift. “I spoke with Georgi at halftime today; he was having a difficult first half, and I know how he is.He keeps trying no matter what, and he beats himself up a little,”he explained. “So I just told him, ‘Look, relax.Things will happen, and you will make blunders.But just make sure the following  thing is a simple pass before you restart from there.” Whites were a different team in the last 15 minutes. None of Leeds’ starting front four could have complained if  they had been substituted at halftime. Joel Piroe squandered some good opportunities. And neither Crysencio Summerville nor Willy Gnonto were at their best.  Georginio has been fantastic this season. Tottenham to upset manager and player, with anticipated transfer likely to fall through.

Contrary to previous speculations, Tottenham will not exercise  their option to buy Timo Werner, and the reason for this has been disclosed. Werner, 27, joined Tottenham on a six-month loan in January. The Germany international had fallen out of favour at his parent club, RB Leipzig, and manager Marco Rose was glad to let him go. Tottenham agreed to pay Werner’s full wage during his loan. The teams also secured a buy option worth approximately £15.5 million. Werner joined while captain Son Heung-min was away on international duty for South Korea at the Asian Cup. As a result, the new signing was immediately inserted into Ange Postecoglou’s starting lineup, earning five consecutive starts to kick off his Spurs career. Werner claimed in a recent interview with Sky Germany that regular gaming time in north London has significantly helped his mood. “The fun has completely returned,” Werner explained. “I have changed a lot as a person, and I am much happy. “After five games, you can conclude that the transfer was worthwhile. However, the season is still long. I aim to improve on my first performances. “But it was worth it for the five games just to play our football in our stadium.” Aside from Werner, Leipzig manager Rose is pleased with the loan term so far. Indeed, Rose recently appeared to approve of Werner’s permanent move to Tottenham at the end of the season. Some kids have risen to prominence, but far too many have faded into obscurity, with Josh Onomah being one of the more recent disappointments. Josh Onomah’s Spurs Career Onomah, an offensive midfielder, made his Premier League debut at the age of 18 under Mauricio Pochettino, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in November 2015. He possessed the makings of a true star: an inherent ability to handle space in enclosed situations, a keen eye for opportunities, and technical proficiency.
