Bayern Munich poised to face Tottenham in a South Korean heavyweight battle

Kim Min-Jae and Heung-min Son face off; who will win?

Given Bayern Munich‘s recent form, it’s difficult to see competitive matches in a favourable light, so why not focus on pre-season friendlies?

Not only is this a terrific way to see new acquisitions and get enthusiastic about young players who appear promise (only to be disappointed when they don’t get a chance during the regular season), but it’s also an opportunity to watch Bayern play with no actual consequences. After all, you cannot lose a tournament before the season even begins.

Bayern have scheduled a pre-season friendly against Premier League side Tottenham for August 2nd (via @iMiaSanMia).

This will be an excellent opportunity for South Korean national team players Heung-min Son and Kim Min-jae to compete in their home country while commiserating over the Asian Cup disaster orchestrated by former Bayern Munich and South Korea head coach Jürgen Klinsmann.

Former Tottenham players Harry Kane and Eric Dier will reunite with their old teammates, while Bayern academy product Pierre-Emile Højbjerg will get a chance to do the same on the Tottenham side.

For any Bayern fans (or stray Tottenham fans reading this page) residing in South Korea or other Asian nations, this may be a fantastic opportunity to see your preferred team play, even if it is only a friendly.
