Roberto De Zerbi’s first game as Brighton’s head coach will be against Liverpool at Anfield
The new manager of Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi, has already done his homework on Liverpool and is ready for his “baptism of fire.”
De Zerbi is now in charge of the Seagulls after Graham Potter left for Chelsea.
However, Brighton’s first game under the Italian manager isn’t for another week.
And there are few challenges more difficult than facing the Reds on October 1 at Anfield.
Paul Barber, the Seagulls’ CEO, has disclosed that De Zerbi is quite knowledgeable about both the team he would be inheriting and Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Barber told talkSPORT that we have to be practical.
“We must also be as patient as we can with him.
In October, he plays six games, including contests with Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, and Manchester City.
He will surely go through a “baptism of fire” and swiftly become used to the Premier League.
His knowledge with our squad, the teams we will soon be playing against, particularly Liverpool, and our players really stuck out to me when I first met him.
“His complete knowledge of where they play, the foot they prefer, their preferred positions, and the systems Graham has employed them in.
We were all quite impressed by how much effort he put into it.
