Blow for £26 million Tottenham Ace since he is no longer the team’s top target.

According to reports, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to leave Premier League champions Tottenham Hotspur, but the Danish international might not be able to join Juventus.

The former Southampton captain may have decided against accepting a transfer to Fulham on the final day of the transfer window because he wanted to sign a contract with one of Europe’s true A-listers.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg of Tottenham would therefore find himself in a precarious situation if Juventus decides not to convert their desire into something more tangible during the winter transfer window.

Hojbjerg is not Juventus‘ first choice, claims Tuttosport. The Serie A giants are placing more emphasis on Khephren Thuram because Paul Pogba‘s future is unknown due to a potential four-year suspension for violating doping regulations. via Sky Sports

It’s impossible to imagine a better Pogba successor than Nice’s £35 million-rated playmaker. He is younger, quicker, more athletic, a better ball-carrier, and more creative than Hojbjerg.

If that doesn’t work, Juve may instead target Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra, who was the target of a Wolves offer in August, or the highly regarded Royal Antwerp wonderkid Arthur Vermeeren.

What does this mean for Hojbjerg, then? Maybe stranded on the Tottenham Hotspur bench.

He has played in every Premier League game under Ange Postecoglou from the bench, after all. According to reports, Hojbjerg‘s representatives have already met with Juventus in Turin.

But with Tottenham seeking £26 million for a guy who turned 28 in August, what is £7 million extra for a player more similar to Paul Pogba in terms of technical ability, attack-mindedness, and youth?

Dier and Hojbjerg are probably leaving.

Eric Dier, who has been with Spurs for a comparable length of time and is in a similar state of disfavour, is also anticipated to leave when his contract expires in 2024. Furthermore, according to Simon Jordan, a former executive at Crystal Palace, Ange Postecoglou ought to be supported in his major hiring choices for Tottenham.

“You are completely correct. “If you’re going to lead something, you’ve got to go hard or go home,” Jordan tells talkSPORT (29 August, 11am).

“What’s the point of mucking around if he doesn’t believe those profiles of players fit the play that he wants?” He might as well get to the money shot, ‘you’re not going to play,’ now.

“Get on with it, and be absolutely correct or absolutely incorrect.” Hopefully, you are correct. If Dier and Hojbjerg aren’t good enough in his opinion, he should get rid of them!”
