Over a decade ago, when Hulk was excelling for FC Porto, he was frequently connected with Premier League clubs.
However, the forward followed his career in other leagues, having played in Russia, China, and now Brazil since 2021.
Today, outlet Trivela published a report saying that Tottenham Hotspur could have signed him. And it wasn’t long ago that José Mourinho wanted him at Tottenham Hotspur.
The story was delivered by Hulk himself during an interview with GaloCast. He alleges the Portuguese manager approached him about a switch to the London club.
“Mourinho even got in touch with my agent about taking me to Tottenham, but then they realised I couldn’t play in England.”
Hulk claims he would have accepted a move to Tottenham but couldn’t obtain a work permit.
“I received offers from Turkey, Portugal, and England. But I couldn’t play in England because I’d been in China for four and a half years, and I couldn’t play in English football because there’s a law that says you have to be in the Brazilian national team for a limited length of time or one of the five divisions they select.”
