Richarlison of Tottenham Hotspur has come under criticism again following his performance for Brazil against Venezuela last night.
The South American giants’ perfect record in World Cup qualifying came to an end after a 1-1 tie with La Vinotinto. Richarlison got the game started, and he wasn’t very good.
Tottenham’s Richarlison gets 4.5/10 rating for Brazil
Last night, Brazil manager Fernando Diniz chose a very good starting team.
Ederson, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhaes, Casemiro, Neymar, and Vinicius Jr, as well as Tottenham sensation Richarlison, all started against Venezuela.
During the last international break, the 26-year-old received a lot of flak for his performances in the famed yellow and blue.
He has since done well for Tottenham, but the Brazilian had a bad night as his team was forced to settle for a draw.
After the game, GloboEsporte announced their player ratings, and Richarlison received 4.5/10 – no one in the entire squad received a lower score.
“Another performance that falls short of expectations,” the site noted.
“Most of the time, he was marked by at least two Venezuelans.” He abandoned the area to get the ball and made mistakes in execution.”

Richarlison needs a break
Richarlison has struggled since joining Tottenham from Everton last season.
The Brazilian produced a few good performances for Brazil during the World Cup, but his level there over the last few months has dropped as well.
Richarlison, in our opinion, just needs a break. He needs to take his mind off all the negativity, and that could help him return to his best.
Brazil take on Uruguay next week and it will be interesting to see if Diniz will continue to use him.
