Brighton of the Premier League is keeping an eye on Can Uzun, an attacking midfielder for Nürnberg, as reported by Sky Germany.
This season, the 17-year-old has been a sensation at the Max-Morlock-Stadium. Uzun has made twelve appearances for Nürnberg this season across all competitions, despite his young age.
Thanks in large part to their teenage Wonderkind, the Bavarian team is currently ranked eighth in the 2. Bundesliga, a considerable improvement over last season. Uzun, who has played in eleven league games and scored five goals, has shot to fame in Germany’s second division.
But he really started to establish himself in the DFB-Pokal, helping Nürnberg defeat Oberneuland 9-1 with three goals and two assists in the opening round. Brighton is interested in Uzun after his impressive senior football debut; they may make an offer of more than €10 million to lure the Der Club to the English South Coast.
Olaf Rebbe, the sporting director of Nürnberg, has clarified that a departure from the team is not imminent, saying, “We’ll see what the future brings.” However, this season, the change is not problematic.
