Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Groß, according to director of football Markus Krösche.
According to SportBILD, the Bundesliga club could rekindle their interest in the midfielder as early as the summer of 2022.
The newspaper explains that with Kevin Trapp, Mario Götze and Robin Koch already in the squad, there is a chance that another German national team player will be added soon.
This is because Eintracht has the Brighton star ‘in mind’ as they look to bolster their squad, having previously looked at him during the summer transfer window in 2022.
Groß and Krösche had ‘loose conversations’ at the time, but the former chose to stay with Brighton.
He has now extended his contract with the club until 2025, but Krösche still has a ‘high opinion’ of him and could be considered as a future reinforcement.
Krösche likes that he can play multiple roles in midfield, which he has done frequently for Brighton, while Groß‘s experience in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim and Ingolstadt means he is already adapted to the league.
It’s unclear whether this will prompt Eintracht to add him to their midfield alongside Ellyes Skhiri, Hugo Larsson, and Sebastien Rode, but the interest is there.
