It’s natural for Roberto De Zerbi to be linked with other clubs after his success at Brighton & Hove Albion.
We’ve seen it before, and the stories continue to emerge as Lazio prepares for life without Maurizio Sarri.
This is according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who explain that the Italians’ time in Rome may be coming to an end in the near future if results do not improve, as they currently sit in 11th place, behind Frosinone and Monza.
With that in mind, the possibility of a manager change at the end of the season is becoming a possibility, for which money will be required, as Sarri is under contract until 2025.
If that happens, ‘the presidential dream’ would be Brighton‘s De Zerbi, who has previously stated his desire to return to Italy at some point.
Lazio, who currently pay Sarri €4 million per year, could be an ideal fit for him.
De Zerbi is paid €2.4m per year at Brighton, so there is room for him to increase his salary, but there are some risks.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, other clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are interested, as well as AC Milan, AS Roma, and Napoli, all depending on how their current managers perform this season.
In all of this, Brighton has the 44-year-old locked down until 2026, which means whoever wants him will have to compensate them handsomely.
