Charlie Eccleshare shares an exciting Tottenham update: “expected to join Tottenham”

Frederik Leth, Aston Villa’s head of football research, is expected to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are undergoing a number of changes behind the scenes. Scott Munn was appointed as the club’s new Chief Football Officer, beginning in September.

This was followed by the appointment of Johan Lange as the new sporting director, who came from Aston Villa and is responsible for recruitment, analytics, and talent identification across the senior and academy teams.

Matt Law reported yesterday that another Aston Villa player, Rob MacKenzie, has left the club and is set to join Spurs as the new chief scout next week.

Aston Villa‘s head of football research Frederik Leth is also expected to join Tottenham, according to The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare (via Last Word On Spurs).

Frederik Leth, Aston Villa‘s Head of Football Research, is also expected to join Tottenham Hotspur, where he will be reunited for the second time with new Spurs Technical Director Johan Lange, with whom he previously worked at Copenhagen.

Johan Lange

Lange and Leth have collaborated for several years, dating back to Lange’s time at FC Copenhagen, where Leth worked in the scouting department.

The decision to bring in Lange, MacKenzie, and possibly Leth reflects the club’s ongoing transformation since the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

Since the summer, there have been only positive changes. The appointment of Ange Postecoglou, who came in and immediately changed the mood at the club, was a brilliant decision.

And these additional changes all point to a positive shift at the club. It is also reported that Levy will refrain from getting involved in football matters and will allow the new personnel to thrive in their roles.

Tottenham is unbeaten in the league and leads archrival Arsenal by two points. They also have a 5-point lead over Manchester City.
