Chelsea will play Championship leaders Leicester City in the FA Cup quarterfinals after defeating Leeds United on Wednesday evening.

The visitors took an unexpected lead at Stamford Bridge but were quickly clawed back by Nicolas Jackson, before Mykhaylo Mudryk put them ahead before the break.  Leeds then equalised in the second half and appeared to have taken the tie to extra time, but midfielder Conor Gallagher‘s well-taken goal in the final minute of regular time secured their place in the competition’s last eight.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be thrilled with his team’s victory, but the encounter may also have allowed Chelsea to observe one of their potential targets in action.

According to TEAMtalk, the Blues are expecting a shock move for leads forward cryscencio summerville. The 22-year-old was substituted at Stamford Bridge, making his 34th appearance of the season in all competitions.

He has 16 goals in all, 15 of which have come in the Championship, propelling the Whites into the promotion battle.

Summerville joined Leeds from the academy of Dutch club Feyenoord in 2020 and has appeared 74 times for the club in all competitions.

Chelsea has reportedly scouted Summerville on many occasions this season, and the London club is confident in their prospects of signing the Dutchman.

Summerville’s current contract is slated to expire in 2026, although the £20 million release clause is thought to be no longer active. Chelsea has signed a number of attacking players in the last two years and may need to unload some stars before making new additions this summer.

Chelsea may face heavy competition for Summerville’s signing, with other big European clubs, including Liverpool, reportedly interested in the former Netherlands under-21 international.
