Chelsea has set their sights on Evan Ferguson as they seek to secure a deal using inside information.

Chelsea are big fans of Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, according to Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (13 November) that the Seagulls‘ new contract puts the teenager on par with the club’s other top earners.

Ferguson, 19, signed a new contract that will last until June 2029 last week (10 November).

Chelsea, on the other hand, have significant Brighton connections within the recruitment staff following their raid on the south coast club last year (2022).

They are believed to be continuing to monitor his situation in order to use that inside information to close a potential deal in the near future.

Paul Winstanley, Director of Global Talent and Transfers, and Kyle Macaulay, Chief Analyst, are among the ex-Brighton personnel now working behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.

Following Ferguson‘s stunning breakthrough for the Seagulls, Football Insider revealed on November 15 that   are also big fans of Ferguson.

Despite signing new forwards in recent transfer windows, both teams are looking to bolster their strike force.

Ferguson, 19, has five goals in 14 appearances this season across all competitions.

Despite his young age, the Republic of Ireland international scored his first Premier League goal against Arsenal in December 2022 and has since gone on to score 11 times in the English topflight.

Nicolas Jackson

Despite Nicolas Jackson‘s recent good form, Football Insider revealed on November 12 that Chelsea is looking to sign a striker ahead of the January transfer window.

With seven goals so far in the 2023-24 season, the Senegal international is the Blues’ leading scorer, but fans and pundits alike have panned him for his erratic finishing.
