Contact between the club and Leeds for a transfer has ‘never stopped’ – new talks will begin this week.

Salernitana’s pursuit of Leeds United fullback Leo Fuhr Hjelde may have taken on the appearance of a soap opera by now, but the pursuit is still very much alive.

TuttoSalernitana published a report today on the club’s search for a left-back, and the 20-year-old remains the leading name mentioned.

This time, Salernitana’s negotiations with Leeds for the transfer are believed to have ‘never stopped’.

TuttoSalernitana published a report today on the club’s search for a left-back, and the 20-year-old remains the leading name mentioned.

This time, Salernitana’s negotiations with Leeds for the transfer are believed to have ‘never stopped’.

According to the publication, the teams will meet again in the “last days of the transfer market.” If the Serie A club fails to secure the signing, they will pursue other ’emergency’ options.

Hjelde has been linked to Salernitana since June, and the Italian club appears to be battling to match Leeds United’s transfer demands.

The Whites have repeatedly stated that they want to let the fullback leave, and while their asking price of €2 million may not seem like much, the Serie A club has been experimenting with various options, like as a loan with an option to buy.
