Could Tottenham sign this defender from Manchester City?

The newest rumor regarding Tottenham Hotspur signing a Manchester City player doesn’t seem to be genuine, but the team may be making some significant changes at full-back this summer.

The rumors that Tottenham is interested in Issa Kabore, who is now at Manchester City, are unfounded, according to Outlet football.london.

Kabore was mentioned as a possible target for Spurs during his season-long loan at Luton Town, when his performances left a lasting impression. After journalist Mike McGrath posted something implying that Kabore may be Tottenham’s top choice in the event that Emerson Royal is sold, the rumors got more serious. Kabore might go for about £12 million, according to McGrath.

Football.london has refuted the notion that Kabore is being actively pursued by Tottenham in spite of these speculations. Spurs’ main priority right now is assessing their full-back alternatives, especially in light of Djed Spence’s encouraging preseason play.

Pedro Porro

With Pedro Porro established as the starting right-back, Spence looks to have cemented his place in the team, making the need for a new right-back signing seem less urgent.

Emerson Royal is still a member of the Tottenham team as of right now, but his future is unclear. There have been continuous talks about moving to AC Milan, and those talks might soon come to a conclusion. If Royal leaves, Tottenham appears to have enough depth at right back with Porro, Spence, and recently signed Archie Gray, negating the immediate need for more additions.

The position of left back, where Tottenham presently primarily relies on Destiny Udogie, may come into greater spotlight. A fresh addition to the team in this position would be more advantageous given that Udogie is the only reliable option on the left side.

It appears that there was more excitement surrounding the signing of Issa Kabore than substance. Tottenham’s current full-back lineup appears to be in good shape. Any further actions will most likely depend on who departs or whether any injuries occur.

At the moment, it appears that improving the left-back position might be more crucial than adding a third right-back.
