Coventry City is getting a major boost before the Canaries match.

According to Coventry Live journalist Andy Turner, wingback Milan Van Ewijk appears set to return to training for Coventry City ahead of Saturday’s match against Norwich City after suffering a muscular injury.

The Dutchman suffered a torn quad during a recent defeat against Cardiff City and hasn’t played or trained since the incident but as Coventry’s injury crisis continues, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel.

Van Ewijk joined the Sky Blues in the summer for a reported £3.5 million transfer fee from Dutch side SC Heerenveen, fresh off an outstanding campaign there.

Van Ewijk has made eight appearances for the Sky Blues since moving to the Midlands. He also scored a spectacular free kick against Watford in a Championship match.

Like Van Ewijk, there is also a chance that Kasey Palmer could make his return from injury against one of the sides that he scored against last season.

The Sky Blues are still without midfielders Liam Kelly and Ben Sheaf as well as the club’s long-term absentees of Callum O’Hare and Fabio Tavares who are both in line to return over the coming weeks.

Van Ewijk and Palmer are two players who have been ever-present in the Sky Blues side so far this season and their absence has been felt by Mark Robins’ men.

Seeing them both return against a tough opposition in Norwich would be a much-welcomed boost for the Sky Blues as they aim to make it three wins from their last three league games.
