Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United has revealed how Rotherham United’s Lee Peltier irritated him during the recent 1-1 draw at The New York Stadium – and how he got his own back on Peltier.
This season, Summerville, 22, has been on fire. He scored in the 1-1 draw with The Millers, but Leeds were unable to hold on to three points, resulting in a poor result. Rotherham did exceptionally well to earn a point against us.
The Dutchman has now scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in 17 Championship games, which is quite remarkable. In his last four games for Leeds, he has three goals and an assist. He’ll look to add to that against Sunderland on Tuesday night.
Peltier is still playing in the Championship after spending two years at Elland Road between 2012 and 2014, appearing 75 times. On the official Leeds United podcast, Summerville discusses how he teased him.
“When a player starts to kick me, I know he’s lost it. Normally, I’m quiet because I respect everyone. But I have to say against Rotherham, the right-back, was annoying me. He did too much,” Summerville said.
“One time I was running, left him behind – he grabbed his hamstring. I had a chance. I walked back and said, ‘you can’t keep up with me, it’s alright bro’. I was in his head. That’s only if they go too far.”
Summerville Crysencio, on how he teased Lee Peltier this season
Amazing work. Unfortunately, Leeds did not win the game, but Summerville vs. Peltier was a mismatch. Our goal came shortly after Peltier lost Summerville and the winger went free.
