When asked if he anticipated the team conducting significantly more business before the deadline, head coach Steve Cooper responded, “We hope. Each and every club member is making an effort.

“Somethings, in my opinion, might not be too far away. But throughout my brief management career, I’ve also held jobs similar to this one and things haven’t quite worked out. I don’t want to talk about it too much until players sign, train, and you get to work with them.

“But we definitely want to accomplish it. If it does, fantastic. If not, you can view the offerings these men are making. The boys have a great sense of humor. We left Old Trafford feeling really frustrated that we didn’t get anything out of the game, and to achieve that, you need a group of individuals that firmly believe in what we do and are supporting one another with what we have.

Santos merely moved in last Friday after leaving Chelsea on loan. The 19-year-old Brazilian, Cooper continued, “It’s nothing new to us. We have so far had excellent luck with Brazilian athletes. The people we’ve dealt with thus far really value teamwork, sportsmanship, and training. Andrey will undoubtedly behave exactly the same.

That’s what we’ll do up until someone informs me that something is unusual with any of the players.

But as the deadline draws near, speculation over the Nigel Doughty Academy graduate’s transfer only intensifies, with Tottenham Hotspur appearing to be in the driver’s seat. Remo Freuler, Emmanuel Dennis, Lewis, O’Brien and Jonathan Panzo and others are players that have been mentioned as possible exits.
