Following the international break, Leeds United travel to managerless Rotherham United.
The Whites are currently third in the Championship, eight points behind the top two, having closed the gap slightly in the weeks leading up to the season’s break.
Daniel Farke‘s side come into the game on the back of a three-match winning streak that included victories over Huddersfield Town, Leicester City, and Plymouth Argyle.
Rotherham are still looking for a new manager after sacking Matt Taylor at the start of last week, but they will pose a decent threat despite their position in the table.
Prutton believes Leeds will defeat Rotherham.
David Prutton predicts a comfortable victory for Leeds in his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, putting pressure on the top two.
“Rotherham still don’t have a new manager heading into this one,” he said, implying that parting ways with Matt Taylor was motivated more by reluctance than anything else. They had a good home record under him; it was only on the road that things fell apart.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Leeds to put pressure on Leicester and Ipswich before their games on Saturday.” Five points is a small difference, and I believe that will be the cost. Rotherham United 1-3 Leeds.”
This match does not come at an ideal time, as some of Leeds’ internationals will not even have the opportunity to participate in a full training session.
Georginio Rutter‘s potential absence also does not help, as Leeds‘ attacking structure is largely built around his talent.
However, Rotherham are also dealing with injuries, and Leeds cannot afford to drop points here if they are to catch those above them.
