On Monday, the 26-year-old James raised his season goal involvement to 13 as Leeds defeated the Blues convincingly. He scored once and assisted once, supplying the cross that set up Patrick Bamford‘s goal.

Wales’ Dan James scored with a small deflection after a brilliant cut-back from Junior Firpo. Firpo’s assist for Crysencio Summerville extended Leeds United‘s advantage to 3-0. Manager Daniel Farke implemented strategic improvements that resulted in these memorable experiences.

Joel Piroe was benched in favour of the £10 million man, Bamford, who had not scored or started for Leeds this season. Bamford’s last goal came in a 4-1 loss to Bournemouth, which resulted in Javi Gracia being fired by Leeds.

When questioned by Michael Bridges after Monday’s 3-0 win if playing with Bamford helped him, James acknowledged and stated that Bamford is constantly urging and supporting him on the pitch.

“I enjoy crossing the ball.” Pat will always make the break. “He always says he’s very clever with it,” James said. “And he’s always extending the game.” Even when teams are playing five at the back, he extends them and allows space to the tens.”

Dan James isn’t the only one who thinks highly of Bamford; Wayne Rooney praised his predatory instincts around the six-yard box, while Daniel Farke stated that Bamford had recovered his faith. Positive reactions from teammates and coaches reflected Bamford’s influence against struggling Birmingham City.
