Daniel Farke gives the “not fully focused” Leeds United transfer deadline. 21 years old – YEP

Charlie Cresswell, a center-back for Leeds United, has expressed his dissatisfaction with his current role to Daniel Farke, but no interested clubs have offered Leeds United what they think of him.

As a result, Cresswell remains unemployed.

Leeds doesn’t really have much room to approve further first team departures this month, particularly in defense, where injuries are giving Daniel Farke a difficult January.

The lack of Charlie Cresswell makes depth even more troubling, even though the results don’t seem to indicate anything is wrong.

In January, Daniel Farke discusses Leeds’ depth at center defense.

Leeds needs to focus on strengthening their back four during the remaining January transfer window since they haven’t yet made a major acquisition.

Speaking at the pre-game press conference, Farke discussed the possibility of bringing in a new player in that position given Pascal Struijk’s continued absence due to injury (via the YEP):

“We’ll evaluate him thoroughly over the course of the next few days, so hopefully he can return soon. That will also help our situation at center back.”

Farke’s position on Cresswell was made clear

The Yorkshire Evening Post has also revealed Farke’s assessment of Cresswell‘s circumstances, which is reportedly unavailable tonight because of the player-coach standoff.

It’s evident that Cresswell is not happy with his lack of playing time, which was made worse by his father’s social media post about it. The 21-year-old appears to be given an ultimatum:

“He believed the defender was not entirely focused on matchdays because he wanted to play for Leeds and wasn’t getting enough minutes, and he told Cresswell to either approach him and tell him he’s prepared to take on his role and fight for playing time or find a team that could value him as much as the club does.”
