Daniel Farke has recently given Leeds United a substantial £18 million boost in their quest to reunite with Emi Buendia.

Emi Buendia of Aston Villa would undoubtedly be the one feasible acquisition Daniel Farke could make to his Leeds United team during the upcoming weeks of the January transfer window.

Leeds might use another player up top to cover for Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk as they enter the window. Leeds, however, only has one player to play as a number ten, while having several choices in those positions.

Brenden Aaronson has started 24 consecutive Championship games despite his inconsistent play, primarily because Leeds doesn’t have much competition for the American. In the summer, Georginio Rutter was never replaced.

This is true even though Leeds has been connected to a number of attacking midfield players, including James McAtee and Gustavo Hamer. A reunion between Farke and Buendia of Aston Villa was one possibility, but it never happened.

Leeds may have recently received £18 million in aid in their pursuit of Emi Buendia.
According to Angus Kinnear, Leeds was truly turned down by Buendia. Despite the prospect of a reunion with Farke and his lack of playing time for Villa, the Argentina international did not want to return to the Championship.

Despite still being a popular player among Villa supporters, Buendia has fallen down the Villa hierarchy due to a recent cruciate ligament injury, according to Unai Emery. Villa has now taken their own action in the window.

According to The Telegraph, Villa is on the verge of confirming the £18 million acquisition of Donyell Malen, the star player for Borussia Dortmund. Buendia’s prospects of playing for Villa are undoubtedly diminished by another body in the final third.

Buendia is still a possibility, but Leeds may need to exercise patience.
Malen is a versatile player who can play up top or on either flank, but it does give Villa another player who will be ranked higher than Buendia. Morgan Rogers may now play as a 10 thanks to the acquisition.

Buendia is having difficulty playing when you add in the presence of Ross Barkley, Youri Tielemans, Jacob Ramsey, Leon Bailey, and other no. 10 alternatives. According to reports, Buendia’s position on Leeds has not changed.

Even with Emery’s substitutions, his 19-minute cameo against West Ham on Friday was his second-most minutes of the season. He must go, even if it takes a few weeks to persuade him.

And who better to receive consistent playing time than a team that plays aggressive football, has the potential to win the championship, and has a manager who oversaw his finest form?
