Daniel Farke wants a 23-year-old player not sold this summer after watching him train.

Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, insisted that Jamie Shackleton not be sold after seeing him exercise in preseason.

More information on the 23-year-old’s future was revealed in an article from The Athletic.

For a very long time, Jamie Shackleton has enjoyed high appreciation at Leeds.

Although he has made 85 appearances across all competitions since making his Championship debut at the age of 18, he has never been a crucial member of the team.

Shackleton and defender Charlie Cresswell spent the previous season on loan at Millwall.

The pair put in a lot of time in the Championship last year, but they weren’t able to get them into the playoffs.

Although it was anticipated that Leeds would sell Shackleton this summer, Daniel Farke had other plans.

The German was persuaded by the 23-year-old’s strong preseason performance that he could contribute this season.

One of the most crucial aspects of his game has always been his adaptability.

He might eventually suffer from it, but for the time being, he’s crucial to Leeds’s ambitions to return to the Premier League.

This July, Farke demanded that Shackleton not be sold.

According to The Athletic’s article, Shackleton’s preseason fitness was exceptional once more.

According to reports, he was one of the players who might leave the team after they were demoted from the Premier League.

However, Farke became more adamant that Shackleton not be sold as preseason dragged on.

Players who started every game for Leeds last season in the Premier League left.

Since several of them went on loan, Leeds will save money on their salaries but won’t have any more money to invest on new players.

Farke could have sold Shackleton to generate some money, but he probably wouldn’t have fetched much.

The midfielder, though, has excelled as a left-back and can also play on the right if necessary.

Many Leeds supporters will be eager to see the recent academy graduate given a genuine chance to thrive at Elland Road.

He might find it difficult to unseat fresh recruits including Ethan Ampadu Archie Gray‘s spot in the side will be sought after by Glen Kamara and  .

Jamie Shackleton, however, will work hard to show that he merits a start moving forward.
