Murillo is headed to Nottingham Forest, according to a statement released by Corinthians to the Brazilian media today.
The defender has been given permission to come to England for the medical exams and contract signing after the club told multiple media sources that the Reds’ offer for him was approved.
The highest offer for Murillo, according to UOL journalist Samir Carvalho, had not come from Nottingham Forest. According to reports, Torino had actually offered €1 million more. However, the player made the decision to transfer to the Premier League, and Corinthians honored that decision.
With an additional €3 million in bonuses, Nottingham Forest will allegedly spend €13 million on the acquisition. These bonuses are connected to his club starts and national team call-ups. Corinthians are also holding 20% of a potential transfer, says Carvalho.
At the beginning of the month, Nottingham Forest and Murillo started to develop a relationship, and the Reds reportedly moved rapidly to complete the trade.
Recent sources from Brazil indicate that rather than being discovered by the Reds’ people in South America, the player was recommended to them.
