Dr Rajpal Brar believes Tottenham Center-back Micky van de Ven may not be able to play against Luton Town on March 30.
The injury expert argues that the severity of his setback has not been revealed, but Ange Postecoglou‘s statements indicate that it is not significant.
The Spurs manager stated on March 15 that his injury was not as severe as the previous one and that he would not play against Fulham, which they lost 3-0.
Dr. Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, spoke exclusively with Tottenham News about the current condition of play with van de Ven.
“It sounds like the examination is still ongoing, but Ange‘s comments are favourable.
“We don’t have much information other than it’s a thigh injury, so it’s difficult to offer a best vs worst case scenario, but generally it’s a matter of days vs. months.
“A better indicator would be to watch how he trains following the international break.
Van de Ven’s injury is a significant setback to Tottenham.
Despite only relocating to north London this summer, the Dutchman has quickly established himself as one of the team’s key players.
The 22-year-old has made 18 Premier League games and has been the first choice whenever he is available.
He has an excellent understanding with Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence, and their skill sets complement each other well.
In van de Ven’s absence, there look to be significant gaps in the back line, which Postecoglou must rectify.
