“Doping” – Leeds United’s Djed Spence cracks a joke as Manchester City humiliates Bournemouth.

Luis Sinisterra, on loan from Leeds United, scored his first goal for Bournemouth at the weekend, although it came in a 6-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Away from the Championship, Leeds has a number of loan players worth keeping an eye on because they could be worth a significant amount in transfer fees next summer.

Bournemouth have built a name for themselves this season by signing long-term manager target Andoni Iraola, then hijacking a Max Aarons deal to sign Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra.

LUIS SINISTERRA

How did Sinisterra get on at the weekend?

Sinisterra had a bittersweet moment at the weekend when he scored his first goal for the Cherries since signing on loan, but it came as Man City thrashed them for six.

Bournemouth simply couldn’t handle player City’s talent, as they ripped them apart, primarily through one player who is making the Premier League seem easy – Jeremy Doku.

The Belgian international scored once and assisted four times on the day, demonstrating his talent since joining from Rennes for £55.5 million in the summer.

Djed Spence reacts
Djed Spence, Doku’s former Rennes colleague, was pleased with how Doku has been doing at Man City, particularly in this weekend’s game.

Spence remarked on Doku‘s Instagram post:

If there is one player we should be concerned about if we get promoted, it is Doku.

Max Wober

He appears to be unstoppable right now, so it’s no surprise that Max Aarons, Sinisterra, and company were powerless to prevent him from scoring.

Bournemouth won’t be the last team this season to be thrashed by Man City, and they’re lucky Erling Haaland wasn’t in the mood to score as well, hitting the crossbar in the first half.

From a less sour perspective, you should hope that this spurs Sinisterra on to prove his worth in the Premier League, giving us a massive fee in 2024/25.
