Former Tottenham defender Erik Edman has lavished praise on a “magical” kid who has yet to make his professional debut for the club.
Lange‘s transfer approach involves signing Europe’s elite talent.
The N17 academy has grown in recent years, with elite prospects such as Jamie Donley, Dane Scarlett, and Oliver Skipp among the young players who finally made it into the first squad.
Tottenham‘s manager, Ange Postecoglou, has lately declared that he wants the club to become one of Europe‘s best destinations for emerging talent.
“It’s what people are seeing,” Postecoglou remarked about Tottenham‘s attractiveness to young players (via The Athletic).
“You can sell a vision to someone, but if there is solid concrete evidence… Anyone who has observed us since I joined will have noticed our desire to be the type of squad we want to be.
“That is not just me stating it; we are actually doing it. Okay, we’re far from finished. However, we are giving young players an opportunity. Destiny, Pape, and Micky are all guys in their early twenties who have already played key roles.
Tottenham is associated with a number of young players moving into January, including Udinese right-back Festy Ebosele and Everton prodigy Jarrad Branthwaite, among others.
Spurs’ most significant declaration of purpose in recent months was hijacking Barcelona’s contract to recruit Swedish phenom Lucas Bergvall on a buy-to-loan back deal from Djurgarden IF. The 18-year-old ultimately selected north London over the Camp Nou, sending a strong hint that Tottenham’s popularity is expanding.
“It felt better in the stomach,” Bergvall stated when asked why he chose Tottenham over Barcelona.
Edman lauds “magical” Bergvall.
Former Spurs defender Edman, who is currently on loan at Djurgardens and flourishing, has heaped praise on Bergvall and may have revealed what fans may anticipate from the teenager.
“What an incredible player this can be,” Edman told SVT, as related by Sport Witness, after the midfield prodigy scored two goals and assisted in Djurgarden’s 5-0 victory over Nordic United this week.
“The build-up to Hummet’s 3-0 was as amazing. Tottenham probably believes they are pleased with this transaction right now.”
