Ex-Chelsea and Spurs manager Jose Mourinho wins new position in England months after AS Roma’s firing.

Jose Mourinho, former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager, has been out of work since being sacked by AS Roma in January.

Jose Mourinho will be back to England this weekend when he joins TNT Sports coverage of the Champions League final as a pundit.

Jose Mourinho

The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager has been out of full-time football since January, when he was fired by Serie A club AS Roma. Despite taking the club to the UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season, the Portuguese’s relationship with the club deteriorated, and the decision was made at the start of the year to split ways.

Since then, Mourinho has been active in Saudi Arabia, where several clubs are rumoured to be interested in his services. The 61-year-old has shown an interest in one day working in the Middle East.

Mourinho has not ruled out a return to the Premier League, however. According to our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News, the seasoned manager would ‘walk to Manchester’ if it meant taking over Manchester United again.

Chelsea were also connected with bringing Mourinho back for a third tenure, but both scenarios appear unlikely. What is clear though is that the two-time Champions League winner will be offering his expert analysis for English viewers at Wembley Stadium this weekend.

Mourinho’s former team Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening. Los Blancos begin the game as heavy favourites to win their 15th Champions League.
