While everything has gone well for Liverpool on the football in recent weeks, the same cannot be said for what has happened off it.
Injuries have dogged Jurgen Klopp‘s team. It appears that as each game progresses, an increasing number of players have suffered injuries.
However, things are changing in a positive way. Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai returned to action this weekend. The former even captured the headlines.
And it’s not only these three who are returning. Yesterday, another Liverpool star returned to action for the club’s U21 team Liverpool saves the day by scoring a last-minute victory.
Mohamed Salah is scheduled to return to action for the Reds this week, which could lead to more good news.
Rhys Williams has returned to action for Liverpool.
Rhys Williams, 23, has been out with an injury for quite some time. Since returning from his loan spell at Port Vale, the Liverpool defender has been unable to participate in training or a competitive match. However, he returned yesterday.
Williams returned to action for Liverpool, playing for the club’s U21 team against Aston Villa. However, the defender did not have the best of results as the youthful Reds lost 2-0 to their opponents.
It’s fantastic to see Williams back, however. He has always been highly regarded in the club’s academy. He even impressed the first team during the 2021/22 season. Klopp referred to him as a ‘great’ player during a news conference a few years ago.
What happens next for Williams remains to be seen. He has had a string of bad luck with loans in the past. He was unable to break into Aberdeen’s team at the start of the season. Meanwhile, he sustained an injury while on loan at Port Vale in January and returned to the Reds without having played a single game for them.
