Exclusive: £9m Star ‘Set to Start’ for Tottenham against Ferencvaros.

Timo Werner, a star for Tottenham Hotspur, will have the opportunity to increase his self-confidence because Ange Postecoglou’s team is likely to start him against Ferencvaros, a Hungarian team, on Thursday in the Europa League.

Tottenham vs Ferencvaros

The Germany international struggled against Coventry City in the Carabao Cup last month, so when Heung-min Son was ruled out due to injury on Sunday, he was a surprise starter against Manchester United. But his participation gave Spurs the opportunity to play as close to their planned system as possible for the match, and he had been hoping for the opportunity to bounce back from a difficult start to the season.

Werner Is Still a Vital Squad Member.

Werner left RB Leipzig in the summer to sign a season-long loan with Tottenham, with the possibility of a permanent deal at less than £9 million at the conclusion of the loan. Even while it doesn’t appear likely right now, reports suggest that the 28-year-old is still a valuable member of the team and that there is still a strong belief that he will play a significant role this season. Werner is still a member of Tottenham’s squad rather than a standout choice for the starting lineup, and Postecoglou has always trusted him in that capacity.

Timo Werner’s club-by-club statistics during his senior career
Club Appearances Goals Assists Yellow cards Sent off
RB Leipzig 213 113 47 14 0
Stuttgart 103 14 11 4 0
Chelsea 89 23 17 4 0
Tottenham Hotspur 20 2 3 1 0
Statistics correct as of 01/10/2024

Werner turned in a solid performance, marred only by a few missed chances in the decisive 3-0 victory at Old Trafford. However, it is anticipated that he will play against Ferencvaros again and have the opportunity to open his goal scoring account for the year.

Despite not having scored a goal or provided an assist in his six games this season, he has played 208 minutes overall. However, the trip to Hungary is anticipated to provide him with a breakthrough season in 2024–2025.

Werner Maintains Spurs Teammates’ Trust.

According to insiders, Werner is trusted by his Lilywhites colleagues from a team standpoint, but he is currently motivated to improve his confidence in order to revert to his previous goal-scoring ways. Postecoglou will have another chance to deploy Son against Ferencvaros, a Hungarian team. Subsequent appearances will be contingent on Son’s ability to regain fitness as well as his performance and development. To maintain his sharpness, Postecoglou might also be tempted to start Dominic Solanke in the Europa League once more. The former Bournemouth player scored in both Spurs’ Premier League opener against Qarabag and their first-ever Europa League encounter.

According to sources, he is expected to start but, in order to give him a chance to recover before the match against Brighton & Hove Albion, he would ideally be substituted early in the second half. In terms of directing Tottenham’s offense and providing a goal-scoring presence in the event that Son plays fewer minutes, Solanke is a key player.
