Tottenham Full-back Djed Spence is expected to depart the club on loan again, with the club seeking to find a solution for him in January, according to transfer news analyst Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano said that the idea is now for Spence to go out on loan again, despite the fact that the 23-year-old appears to have a lot of supporters, even if things haven’t gone exactly as planned for him lately.
Spence appeared to be a very promising player before his move to Tottenham, but he hasn’t been able to kick on since, and it remains to be seen whether he can now find the proper loan move to reignite his career.
Romano still believes Spence has the potential to be a vital player for Spurs, but adds that the most important thing for him right now is to have regular games under his belt.
“Another situation at Tottenham involves Djed Spence, who is back at the club after a difficult loan spell at Leeds,” Romano told the club’s website.
“It has not been easy for Spence, but I believe he will be able to resuscitate his Spurs career in the future. He’s still a good player, but he needs to play more regularly.”
