Exclusive: Spurs will accept a £15 million bid for the 26-year-old

Leeds United transfer news: sources indicate Tottenham’s increased asking price for Joe Rodon.

If Joe Rodon‘s loan from Leeds United is to become a permanent agreement, Tottenham will need to receive a sizable payment.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham is seeking to sell Leeds United loanee Joe Rodon for between £10 and $15 million in the summer of 2019.

It’s thought that several Premier League teams made inquiries about the centre back during the January transfer window, but Spurs‘ asking price turned them down.

Football Insider has been informed by reliable sources that Ange Postecoglou‘s team is keen to cash in on Rodon, who is not part of the Lilywhites‘ long-term strategy.

Football Insider said on February 9 that although the Whites will find it difficult to retain the Welshman unless they are promoted back to the Premier League, they are very keen to keep him on board indefinitely.

Leeds would not have a problem with Tottenham’s value if they were promoted, but keeping Leeds in the second division would be a big obstacle in persuading the Wales international to stay.

Last summer, he moved to Elland Road on a season-long loan from Tottenham, but there was no buyout clause in the agreement.

After his remarkable exploits in the Championship this season, Daniel Farke‘s team may also have competition from elite teams for the 26-year-old’s signature in the summer.

Rodon has made 31 appearances for Leeds across all competitions and has 12 league clean sheets.

Only league leaders Leicester City have a better defensive record in the Championship than Leeds, who have benefited greatly from his contributions.

Leeds‘ 3-0 victory over Rotherham United on Saturday, February 10, has moved them up to third place in the Championship table.

Their next match is scheduled for Tuesday evening (February 13), away against Swansea City.
