EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham make Eze move; Crystal Palace star expecting club to honour deal

Tottenham are set to open talks with Crystal Palace over the next two weeks about signing attacker Eberechi Eze, who wants his club to follow a gentleman’s agreement to let him depart this summer.

FootballTransfers previously stated that early conversations had already taken place between the player’s representation and Johan Lange, Tottenham‘s new technical director, who succeeded Fabio Paratici as the club’s top recruitment officer.

The 25-year-old is presently training with England’s Euro 2024 squad and is open to a move across London.
His family was invited to the North London Derby, as exclusively disclosed by FootballTransfers.

While Eze will not press for a transfer, he believes Crystal Palace will fulfil an agreement to allow him depart if Spurs match the club’s asking price of around €70 million (£60 million). This has effectively become an unofficial release clause.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner is keen on keeping Eze ahead of his first full season in command, and the Eagles will not consider selling the player for less than the €70 million asking price.

Eze has been in excellent form this season, recording nine goals in his last 12 Premier League outings under new manager Glasner, as the Eagles shined late in the campaign.

Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all allegedly interested in signing him this summer, citing his performances.

Tottenham are prepared to put themselves in a strong position to sign Eze by making an early move, albeit a deal may be difficult to complete while the player is still with England at Euro 2024.

FootballTransfers gives the playmaker an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €41.2 million, with a peak price of roughly €51.5 million.
