According to Tottenham News, Fabio Paratici has advised Spurs to recruit Ederson, a midfielder for Atalanta.
This season in Serie A, Ederson has been a remarkable performance for his team.
In addition to starting 19 of the team’s 20 league games, the 24-year-old Brazilian has scored once in the UEFA Europa League and contributed one assist while playing central midfield.
Tottenham News has learned that Paratici has recommended the North London team to include the midfield player in their roster, according to a source close to the club who works in recruitment.
Following his appointment to Tottenham as managing director of football (BBC Sport, June 12, 2021), the former head of Juventus has been in charge of bringing in a number of elite players, many of whom come from the top division in Italy.
Under the 51-year-old’s direction, players like Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Destiny Udogie were all brought to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham News has learned that Paratici is advising those in the building on their transfer activity, even though he is no longer officially employed by the club due to his ban from all football-related activities worldwide (The Telegraph, 2 January). Ederson is his most recent recommendation.
With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future uncertain, Sky Sports News earlier disclosed online in their live transfer center on January 16, at 5:48 p.m., that Spurs are pursuing Ederson and Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
At Hotspur Way, Ange Postecoglou will be eager to keep bolstering his midfield depth. With Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma both absent due to the African Cup of Nations, the Australian is now lacking in that area.
In other Tottenham news, one player who was away on international duty is returning to his best form, which will please Postecoglou.
