The £20 million release clause for Tyler Adams, a midfielder for Leeds United, has been met by Bournemouth.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Adams is ‘keen’ on a transfer to the South Coast and Bournemouth are now ‘optimistic’ of closing a deal.
Adams was on the verge of signing with Chelsea at the end of last week when they decided to back out at the last minute, despite the fact that he had passed a medical.
Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, whose signings have since been confirmed and whose is imminent, were the targets of the Blues’ other decision to deploy the money.
After Adams‘ unsuccessful deal to Chelsea, Premier League clubs learned of his availability, and Bournemouth have now chosen to trigger his release clause.

Leeds continued to believe that they would be able to keep Adams this summer, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier today, but it now seems unlikely.
Adams follows the likes of Jack Harrison, Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson, and Robin Koch on a long list of first team players from last season who are expected to go.
However, the 24-year-old will be the first player for whom Leeds will get a legitimate price; thus far, the majority of their departures have been on loans.
It will be another setback for Leeds this summer after Bournemouth sabotaged the Whites’ pursuit of Max Aarons the previous week.
However, Leeds can now ideally utilise the money that will be received as a result of Adams‘ departure to restructure the team.
