Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool is “expected to begin talks” with a £45 million forward

An update on Liverpool’s early transfer plans is given by FABRIZIO ROMANO.
Numerous rumours have surfaced linking a number of players to a move to Anfield as Liverpool gets ready for the impending transfer season. However, a report from Fabrizio Romano today suggests that it’s a well-known name that seems to be drawing attention once more.

According to the transfer guru, Liverpool and Chelsea are “continually monitoring Crysencio Summerville‘s circumstances at Leeds United.” “Both clubs have been monitoring him this season and showing interest in recent weeks,” Romano adds in his explanation.

Crucially, he also mentioned that “talks for the Dutch winger are expected to begin soon, but nothing is advanced yet.”

Why is Summerville of interest to Liverpool?
This summer, Liverpool is anticipated to make a move for a forward, particularly in light of Luis Diaz’s unclear future—he has been connected to moves to Saudi Pro League teams, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, among others.

Crysencio Summerville

That would make the 22-year-old a strong contender to join Anfield following a stellar 2023–24 campaign in which he scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions while playing for Leeds United. His underlying stats, which average 5.04 progressive carries and 6.10 shot-creating actions every ninety minutes, are as astounding. His play is also direct and quick, as evidenced by his 2.52 successful takeaways and 2.57 runs into the opponent penalty area per ninety minutes on average.

CREDITS IMPLICATIONS
The asking price from Leeds United, which is apparently in the neighbourhood of £45 million, is likely going to be one of the biggest obstacles in this transaction for Liverpool, in my opinion. It’s clear that the Reds cannot afford to make such a deal; rather, it’s more likely that there may be better options available elsewhere in the market.
