Fabrizio Romano reports that Ange Postecoglou; a 30-goal target for Tottenham; has begun negotiations with a different team.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a striker who Tottenham Hotspur has been connected to is in negotiations with another team.

Spurs had a difficult season finale, winning only two of their final seven games. They lost out on a top-four finish as a result, and they will now play in the Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou is aware that his team requires reinforcements in several different areas of the field. Spurs are rumoured to be looking to add a striker, although one of their targets has recently started discussions with a Champions League team.

Fabrizio Romano updates on the Tottenham-related Guirassy Serhou

Tottenham has been keeping an eye on Serhou Guirassy for some time.

Since 2023, the North Londoners have been connected to a move to sign him, and despite his incredible season, their interest has not diminished.

According to reports, Ange Postecoglou is considering trying to sign Guirassy this summer after seeing his Stuttgart performances.

The recently finished 2023–24 campaign saw the Guinean international score 30 goals across all competitions. He was even named alongside former Tottenham star Harry Kane in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.

With a £15 million release clause, Guirassy would be a great addition to any team this summer, and Tottenham is right to give him some thought.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund has designated Guirassy as their top target for the forthcoming transfer window.

Furthermore, the Champions League finalists and Guirassy’s team are already in discussions on a possible move to the Westfalenstadion prior to the 2024–2025 season.

“There has been interest from England, Italy, and elsewhere,” Romano stated in his Daily Briefing, “but what I can say now is that Borussia Dortmund are seriously working on this deal.”

“They have communicated with players, and Guirassy is one of their main targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.” Nevertheless, Dortmund wants to sign Ian Maatsen from Chelsea and is in talks to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, so we will need to comprehend their budget.

Therefore, despite reports from France, Guirassy is one of Dortmund’s top priorities, and as far as I know, there are no talks underway for Randal Kolo Muani. But Guirassy is someone BVB should watch; some discussions have already taken place with him.

Three justifications for Tottenham to sign Guirassy Serhou

The audacious choice to leave Harry Kane unreplaced at Tottenham in 2023 was taken by Ange Postecoglou.

Heung-min Son and Richarlison were Spurs’ main offensive weapons, and to be fair, they performed admirably.

To advance, though, Tottenham will need to acquire a true striker this summer, and we believe Serhou Guirassy would be a great fit.

For the following three reasons;

  • Prolific: In the 2023–2024 season, Guirassy scored 30 goals for Stuttgart in all competitions, including 28 in the Bundesliga in the same number of games. That return is amazing.
  • Profile: Compared to other strikers Tottenham now has, Guirassy has a distinct style. He is compared to Mario Gomez on the Bundesliga website, who was a terror to play against in his prime.
  • Bargain: Guirassy, who has scored more goals than the majority of forwards in the world, will only cost £15 million, whereas a top-tier striker would cost a fortune in the current transfer market. For the Spurs, that makes him an obvious choice.
