Farke finally gets his way at Leeds United ahead of a hectic fortnight with four key priorities.

Leeds United have 15 days to complete their summer transfer business, but manager Daniel Farke now has authority over his squad’s incoming and exiting players.

Leeds United may have finally turned a turnaround as Daniel Farke takes control of the club for the remaining two weeks of the transfer window. Four high-quality second-tier arrivals appear to have gotten overlooked in the frenzy of 13 leavers and relegation release clauses.

The manager, who has remained collected throughout his news conferences, has not shied away from predicting a difficult summer, particularly in August, but there may finally be a light at the end of the tunnel. Farke had spoken about being out of the driver’s seat and powerless to stop players from leaving Leeds.

Nonetheless, with 15 days left in the transfer window, it appears destiny has returned to his and the club’s hands for the final push towards a promotion-ready group. LeedsLive knows that the summer’s escape clauses have now expired.

Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra were the last remaining assets United was at risk of losing, either on loan or permanently, but their clauses were not successfully invoked in time. If any other bids come in for that pair or anyone else in the squad, Farke and the leadership will determine whether or not to accept.

With the expiration of the clauses, Farke now knows what his squad looks like and who he can realistically rely on beyond September 1. It has also crystallised the incoming transfer image.

Leeds is still interested in another full-back, as evidenced by their pursuit of Max Aarons. The initial idea was that they would be interested in a left-back, but Farke’s desire for a versatile alternative, such as his old Norwich City teammate, has grown.

With Adams, Ethan Ampadu, and Archie Grey presently serving as three reliable options in midfield, United is looking for a fourth, true starter. If Adams and Ampadu are viewed as defensive options, someone with attacking qualities, such as Grey, would be a better fit.

The recruitment team’s third priority is to find a striker. Farke‘s ideas include Patrick Bamford, Georginio Rutter, and Mateo Joseph, but another choice would compliment what they already have.

Beyond those trio, depending on who is available on the market, there would be some temptation to pursue another midfielder or a full-back. Farke has already stated that the department is in good hands with Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow.
