Farke was amazed in the preseason match against Leeds United, who “targeted” a 20-year-old under former Thorp Arch coach

Jovon Makama, a striker for Lincoln City who is currently making waves under Michael Skubala, has reportedly drawn interest from Leeds United.

With three games remaining in 2024, the Whites hope to finish in the top two when the January transfer window opens.

There is fan talk about the possibility of searching for a new striker addition at that time, and it is reasonable to assume that Leeds will take transfer movements into consideration.

Jovon Makama of Lincoln City is being pursued by Leeds.

Leeds is one of a few Championship teams monitoring Lincoln City attacker Jovon Makama, according to a report from EFL Hub.

The 20-year-old had two goals and two assists this season under the tutelage of Michael Skubala, who naturally was a member of Leeds’ squad throughout the 22–23 campaign, first serving as an under-21 coach before temporarily joining the senior squad to take Jesse Marsch‘s place.

Leeds is reportedly interested in joining Sheffield United, as both Chris Wilder and Daniel Farke have shown admiration for Makama after seeing him in person.

The German is said to have admired Makama because of a friendly between Farke’s team and Lincoln that took place behind closed doors in July.

However, considering that Makama signed a new deal in October that would keep him there until 2027, he might want a higher price from any interested club.

In January, Leeds should be acquiring players who are prepared to contribute immediately, but Makama makes that difficult to see.
In 58 League One games, he has only managed four goals and two assists, which is far from the level of prolific finishing Leeds needs.

He is undoubtedly a gifted player who may flourish in the right squad, but Leeds cannot afford to take a chance on players’ potential when promotion is at stake.

If Leeds wants to add an attacking player in the new year, you’d hope they’re relying on players with more experience.
