Five things were discovered after Tottenham destroyed Manchester United 3-0.

Johnson, Kulusevski, and Solanke goals helped Tottenham Hotspur defeat Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford, extending their excellent September play.

Let’s examine the five lessons we discovered:

Ange-ball at its most delicious

Tottenham‘s lack of effectiveness against Big Six opponents under Ange Postecoglou has been widely discussed, thus this game was sure to be closely watched. But the forty minutes or so that preceded Fernandes’ red card were some of the greatest that we have witnessed Ange-ball play.

It was enjoyable to observe the player’s fluidity of movement, passing range, and devastating finishing passes. On the other hand, as a United supporter, that must have been horrifying to witness. Spurs’ pivotal moment this season has come when Kulusevski was moved to a number eight position alongside Maddison. It was an all-out assault before, but now it feels like suffocation.

Kulusevski Dejan

Speaking about the Swedish Ginger, what a game he played! Although James Maddison has had a fantastic start to the season, Kulusevski has been Tottenham‘s most reliable offensive threat ever since he moved into the middle. Whether he’s flicking the ball over the goalkeeper, backheeling the ball around the corner to set up a teammate, or finding enough second wind to win a 50-yard race, he makes it look effortless.

To be more precise, Kulusevski and Micky Van de Ven are now the top two players that Spurs need to make sure stay healthy this season.

Once more, Brennan Johnson is at it!

Although everyone has experienced being the victim of a sucker blow in the first minutes of a game, Tottenham ultimately scored the goal! Brennan Johnson, please bow. Four goals, four games, three tournaments. If you take away his goals this month, the Welshman simply doesn’t appear like the same guy.

The opponent used to appear afraid when Brennan got the ball, but that has changed since the beginning of the season. If his shot hadn’t bounced off the post today, he might have even scored another goal. He seemed to have mastered the driving shot from a close right angle that goes through the legs of the opponent.

Timo Werner vs Mikey Moore

I don’t detest Timo Werner here. He puts up a ton of effort and works tirelessly for the squad. He actually scored three amazing goals today thanks to his running. He had two opportunities to roll the ball past Onana and score, and on the third he found Maddison with an easy pass. Sadly, none of those instances resulted in a goal, and therein lays the issue. I believe that Postecoglou would eventually be better off taking a chance on young Mikey Moore. At least you are making progress toward a player you want to be at the team for many years to come, even if he doesn’t settle right away.

Spurs still need to address one issue.

To avoid getting too carried away, let’s examine one area where Tottenham may have performed better. Despite Spurs’ dominance for nearly the whole second half, the red card did seem like an additional “get out of jail free” card. Spurs still needed to put in some work till then. Tottenham has consistently shown remarkable skill on the field, but they have trouble scoring the second goal. The group does need to do better at closing out games when they are winning (without the added advantage of a red card). Other than that, today at work was all smiles!
